Three top FAQs on luxury vinyl flooring
Any vinyl flooring, especially the luxury version, is considered a trend. That is because it offers so much value for the decorating dollar.
If you haven’t seen luxury vinyl plank or tile yet, you probably have some questions. Please read further as we break down the top three FAQs.
Question #1: What about style?
Nature-inspired wood, stone, and tile images are clear, accurate, vibrant, and realistic. Sometimes even the flooring experts can't tell the difference.
The images are taken with high-definition photography. They also have micro beveling for depth, dimension, and textured looks.
The material is cut into long planks to mimic hardwood boards to add realism. The square tile-sized pieces are called luxury vinyl tile, used mainly for stone and tile echoes.
All of this is budget-friendly. It looks genuine, but you won't pay nearly the same price.
Question #2: Will it stand up to my kids and pets?
This stands up to anything! Luxury vinyl is five times thicker than the original product and layered.
A top, transparent, strong wear layer protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and dents. At the very top is a clear urethane finish. It adds extra shine and strength.
This vinyl is waterproof whether it is submerged or spilled on.
Question #3: Is it hard to take care of?
LVT and LVP floors only require a regular (daily if possible) sweeping and periodic mopping. Use a manufacturer-approved cleaner and avoid waxy, shine-promoting cleaner. They damage the finish and dull the floor.
It's also a good idea to place mats strategically at entrances. In addition, use protective pads on furniture legs to avoid scratching.
